Tools for Tolerance® for Command Staff
Tools for Tolerance® for Command Staff is a 16 hour program for command level professionals addressing the unique challenges facing today’s law enforcement leadership. The program guides Command Staff to craft appropriate responses to complex issues. Today's leaders have no roadmap by which to refer. Combining timeless qualities with those that are timely for this new era, today's leaders must master activities their predecessors did not have to contemplate. |
This program is P.O.S.T. certified. Tuition is sponsored and travel is reimbursed via P.O.S.T. Plan IV.
The goal for the Tools for Tolerance® for Command Staff is to provide a specialized expansion of the Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement Program for command staff and policy makers focusing on their unique challenges in an increasingly democratic and diverse society.

Tools for Tolerance® for Supervising Line Staff
Both command and line-level personnel often remarked that one of the most influential groups of people in an agency is the first-line supervisor. They have the ability to influence how policies and procedures are perceived and applied. However, first-line supervisors also find themselves in the unenviable position of being sandwiched between the great expectations of leadership and perceptions of power and accountability from subordinates. |
As new leaders, they have to forge different relationships with individuals who used to be colleagues within an environment of limited authority. The first-line supervisor is an extremely challenging position. Drawing upon the models of the current Tools for Tolerance® for Command Staff program, this presentation assists supervisors to gain expertise in certain leadership skills and to infuse those skills in a para-military organizational structure.
