at the MOT
   



The MOT invites you to commemorate 9/11 with special programs and exhibits.

Participate in the 2019 Anniversary Webinar with the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Connect with Museum staff and guest speakers to hear first-person stories about the attacks and recognize the importance of commemoration during this 35-minute program. (11 AM and 3 PM).
Featured Speakers: Sofia Lachapelle, a TV reporter who covered the World Trade Center attack live for Univision (presented in English and Spanish); Col. Mark Lewis, an Army officer who was inside the Pentagon and helped direct evacuees and search for survivors; Kathy Dillaber, a Pentagon survivor and 9/11 family member whose sister, Patricia Mickley, was killed in the attack; Jeff Johnson, a member of FDNY Engine 74 who helped evacuate survivors from the World Trade Center; Frank Razzano, a D.C.-based lawyer who successfully evacuated the World Trade Center with the assistance of FDNY firefighter Jeff Johnson.
 
Create art to commemorate and honor the victims and their families. (From 12 PM to 3 PM)

Preview a new exhibition, Turban and Identity, in partnership with the Sikh Coalition, featuring 28 exquisite portraits by renowned photographers Amit and Naroot, that capture the diversity, beauty, and resilience of the Sikh American community.

View America's Heroes: A Memorial Quilt with a patch lovingly created in remembrance of each of the rescue workers who gave their lives to save others on 9/11, and read their stories

Visit Confronting Hate in America and other exhibits in the Tolerancenter that address the events of 9/11 and their aftermath.
