Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Budgeting

The Senior Manager, Financial Reporting & Budgeting, will lead the month- and year-end financial close, oversee the annual audit and tax return preparation, and help prepare the annual budget for the organization. This highly visible position will interface with all organizational departments and levels and supervise a staff of four.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the monthly and fiscal year-end close process 
    • Review reconciliations prepared by Senior Accountants 
    • Reconcile payroll, intercompany, and accrued expense accounts 
    • Review and approve journal entries prepared by Senior Accountants and Accounts Payable 
    • Perform a detailed GL review 
    • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Prepare year-end audit accruals for salary, vacation, and retirement plan contributions
  • Oversee monthly pledge receivables 
    • Review new pledges for accuracy 
    • Maintain pledge aging schedule 
    • Prepare monthly contra entries (to discount future receivables)
  • Oversee the annual audit process 
    • Coordinate and prepare schedules for audit fieldwork 
    • Function as the primary point of contact for the audit team
  • Prepare the annual 990 tax return
  • Prepare the annual budget for the upcoming fiscal year, as well as mid-year budget updates 
  • Prepare financial materials for board meetings 
  • Review and approve invoice and credit card expense coding 
  • Review cash receipts for accuracy 
  • Assist in converting proprietary software to ERP in the coming months 
  • Prepare and submit state/charitable registrations for direct mail solicitations 
  • Prepare the annual tourism tax assessment, census survey, and FBAR reporting 
  • Assist with grant billing and reporting 
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned by VP/Controller & Principal Accounting Officer


YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT FOR US IF YOU HAVE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or MBA preferred 
  • 7+ years of accounting and forecasting experience, non-profit preferred 
  • Fund accounting and 990 preparations a plus 
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • Experience in process improvement and streamlining 
  • Experience in leading and managing a team 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is an in-person/onsite, full-time; Monday-Friday

Salaried exempt position;

Salary range $125,000-$150,000; Generous benefits package included.
