Project Assistant, Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement 

Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement, an award-winning professional development program of the Museum of Tolerance, seeks a full-time Project Assistant to coordinate the planning, development, implementation, follow-up activities for all law enforcement and criminal justice programs. The Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement Department provides training to criminal justice professionals in the areas of cultural diversity, ethical decision-making, hate crimes, racial profiling, and leadership. This position works in a dedicated team and reports to the Program Manager.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide overall support in planning, development, and coordination of the Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement and other professionals groups 
  • Assist in the management of daily programs, coordinating agendas and supplies, assembling materials, calendaring, room reservations, etc. 
  • Be a welcoming ‘ambassador’ when greeting program participants and adjunct faculty 
  • Ensure appropriate room set up, catering set up, test audio-visual, and provide any logistical support to faculty (facilitators, speakers and presenters) throughout program day 
  • Assist in making travel arrangements for program participants including follow up to ensure participant submission of all travel related documents 
  • Liaise with vendors such as caterers and various MOT departments to support successful professional development on site events 
  • Help maintain all documentation for grant reports and program files 
  • Aid in the program marketing and ongoing recruitment of program participants 
  • Other duties that may be determined by Program Manager and Director

  • Highly motivated, shows initiative, and has ability to problem solve 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel (mandatory), Outlook, PowerPoint

 

40 hours/week, Monday-Friday (Occasional Sunday Programs)

Compensation at $18 per hour; Generous benefits package including medical, dental, and life insurance.
