Take the EXPLORER CHALLENGE through MOT exhibits to learn more about MLK's legacy and the history of the Civil Rights Movement
Art Activities such as the MLK BOARD GAME: Where families can work together to create a board game to take home that illustrates MLK's setbacks and achievements in his fight for freedom, and, MAKING A DIFFERENCE: Link your action to those of others to illustrate how far small acts combined together can go towards changing the world.
Film screening MIGHTY TIMES: THE CHILDREN'S MARCH tells the story of how the young people of Birmingham, Alabama braved fire hoses and police dogs in 1963 and brought segregation to its knees.
Film screening MIGHTY TIMES: THE LEGACY OF ROSA PARKS tells the story of the Montogomery bus boycott, and how an act of defiance inspired a community to unite in its opposition to segregation and change America.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have A Dream" speech will be availible all day in the Viewing Room as well. The MOT looks forward to hosting all museum guests for a day filled with celebration and service.
