The Museum of Tolerance invites you to a special screening of the new film

FUNNY BOY
Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 7:30 PM

Set in the languid, lush world of 1970s and 80s Sri Lanka, Funny Boy shows a young man's coming to terms with being gay in a country where homosexuality is a criminal offense. His family's upper-middle class world starts to collapse under the strain of civil war. With first love, he learns that the human condition can-in spite of everything-be joyful.

Sir Salman Rushdie moderates a conversation with Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker and Director of Funny Boy, Deepa Mehta.
