ALICE HOFFMAN on her new book, THE WORLD THAT WE KNEW

Wednesday, January 15, 2020
7:00 PM

Peltz Theater
Museum of Tolerance
9786 West Pico Blvd Los Angeles, CA 90035

Hanni Kohn knows she must send her twelve-year-old daughter Lea away from Berlin in order to save her from the Nazi regime.

The daughter of a renowned rabbi creates a mystical Jewish creature sworn to protect Lea.

In The World That We Knew remarkable characters take us on a stunning journey in a world where evil can be found at every turn, where all roads lead past the Angel of Death, and where love forever endures.

Alice Hoffman is an American novelist and young-adult and children's writer of more than thirty works of fiction. Many of her works fall into the genre of magic realism and several of her historical fiction novels feature Jewish characters.

Alice Hoffman will be in conversation with Deborah Thompson, Manager of the Museum of Tolerance Book Store and a former research assistant of the author.

Refreshments and a book sale and signing will follow the program.

This special event is offered at no charge. RSVP is required.
