Safety Measures and Protocols:

On July 18th the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health (Public Health) re-implemented the mandate requiring everyone to wear masks while indoors, regardless of vaccination status. The Museum of Tolerance will adhere to this mandate and masks will be required to be properly worn (covering your nose and mouth) Masks Info graphic.pdf at all times in the museum by staff, security, volunteers and public.

  • Face coverings with two or more layers of washable, tightly woven, breathable fabric must be worn over the mouth and nose at all times when indoors throughout your visit — except children under the age of two.
  • In accordance with Los Angeles County Department of Public Health, face coverings or respirators with one way valves, single-layer face coverings such as mesh masks, bandanas, neck gaiters and scarves, or any cloth not designed to function as a face cover, such as t-shirts or towels, are not permitted forms of face coverings. Face shields are also not allowed instead of a mask, but may be worn over one.
  • Those instructed not to wear a cloth face covering by a medical provider are invited to visit the museum at another time when it is deemed safe to do so.

As part of our commitment to your health and safety during your visit, the museum is implementing a number of measures, including:

  • Improved central air filtration and increasing the MERV rating (Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value) on all the HVAC filters to a MERV 11 which captures 1.0 to 3.0 micron particles
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols including but not limited to frequent cleaning of high-touch surfaces and the use of EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) registered sanitation and disinfectant products for cleaning, sanitizing and disinfecting
  • Installation of touchless restroom faucets
  • Hand sanitizer throughout the museum

All visitors are required to:

  • Wear face coverings at all times while indoors
  • Stay home if not feeling well Covid-19 Symptoms
  • Wash hands often
