THE DEVIL’S CONFESSION: THE LOST EICHMANN TAPES
Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 7:00pm
"Exposing Eichmann’s visceral, ideological antisemitism, his zeal for hunting down Jews and his role in the mechanics of mass murder…"— Isabel Kirshner, The New York Times
The Devil’s Confession: The Lost Eichmann Tapes unearths secret recordings of Adolf Eichmann in an interview with Dutch Nazi journalist, Willem Sassen, in Buenos Aires, in 1957. These tapes expose Eichmann boasting of his significant role in planning and executing the Final Solution, stunningly contradicting his defense at his later trial that he was only carrying out orders. The documentary film sheds light on the hidden forces that concealed the recordings for more than six decades.
Following the screening, insights from the Director,
Yariv Moser and Q&A with Dr. Michael Berenbaum, Holocaust Historian and Director of the Sigi Ziering Institute at American Jewish University, moderated by Museum of Tolerance Director Liebe Geft.
