Program Director, Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement

Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement, an award-winning professional development program of the Museum of Tolerance, seeks a full-time Program Director to plan, develop, implement, and follow-up on all law enforcement and criminal justice programs. Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement provides training to criminal justice professionals in the areas of cultural diversity, community trust-building, ethical decision-making, hate crimes, racial profiling, and leadership development.

The Director is responsible for the successful administration and implementation of all activities of the Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement Department and reports to the Director of the Museum of Tolerance.

DUTIES INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Plan and implement professional development programs and events using the assets of the MOT
  • Oversee administration of grants including budgets and reports 
  • Supervise staff and adjunct faculty
  • Maintain relationships with our longtime consultants, presenters and facilitators
  • Seek new partnerships and alliances with law enforcement/criminal justice agencies and professional organizations
  • Actively recruit participants from criminal justice agencies and organizations for participation in programs, and promote established programs
  • Liaise with justice partners to create customized, relevant programs for law enforcement and criminal justice professionals
  • Collaborate with senior MOT staff and consultants in the creation of new curriculum for innovative programs
  • Represent the MOT in professional forums, councils and committees
  • Conduct ongoing evaluation and maintain quality control
  • Stay abreast of the latest research in the field
  • Other job related duties and responsibilities may be assigned as appropriate by the Director of the Museum of Tolerance


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years leadership experience with a background in the field of Law Enforcement and/or Criminal Justice
  • Demonstrated experience with program design and development for professional training
  • Excellent presentation and dialogue facilitation skills
  • Meticulous administrative and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Highly motivated, shows initiative, and has the ability to problem solve
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • High degree of flexibility, can adapt easily to changing environment and tasks
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

40 hours/week, Monday-Friday (Sunday Programs as scheduled)
