Manager, Recruitment and Training

Museum of Tolerance Los Angeles

The Museum of Tolerance is seeking a full time Manager, Recruitment and Training to work with the Senior Manager of Museum Education and assist in coordinating the Volunteer Department and the hundreds of Volunteers, Interns and High School Students who are volunteers at the SWC/ MOT, providing vital support for numerous projects and programs throughout the Museum of Tolerance. This individual must possess excellent communication and organizational skills, value attention to detail, a proactive attitude; as well as being enthusiastic, and personable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide support for the Holocaust Survivors of the SWC/MOT
  • Support all administrative responsibilities, including data base entries, recording of volunteer hours, generating reports on volunteer participation, volunteer newsletter, ongoing communication with all volunteers
  • Support the recruitment of new volunteers, including developing outreach, participating in interviews, and checking references
  • Plan/Coordinate the Volunteer Orientation Training classes, including preparing materials, reserving rooms, booking speakers and trainers, set up training rooms, etc.
  • Plan Volunteer Recognition Events
  • Assist with Museum educational programs including STEPS to Tolerance and special educational programs
  • Conduct Museum tours and Virtual tours, when needed: Anne Frank Exhibit; Social Lab/Holocaust Exhibit
  • Mentor international interns, as well as interns from the United States
  • Assist, as needed, with public programs or special events in the Museum
  • Other duties as assigned by the Senior Manager of Museum Education


YOU WILL BE A GREAT FIT FOR US IF YOU HAVE:

  • 2-3 years’ experience working with or managing volunteers
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Background in education and/or museum education
  • Experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Strong research skills and use of the internet
  • Proficiency with computers (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point) and social media
  • Willingness to work in a team environment
  • Strong work ethic; self-motivated; flexible

40 hours/week, Monday-Friday (Occasional Sundays)
