WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE SCHEDULING A TOOLS FOR TOLERANCE® FOR TEENS PROGRAM?

Who can participate?
The Tools for Tolerance® for Teens program is appropriate for 7th - 12th grade students, and is designed with that age level in mind.

What is the program fee?
The fee for the program is $85.00 per person. Payment can be made by cash, check, Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. Purchase Orders are not acceptable forms of payment.

Is there any grant funding?
Limited grant funds are available to schools and organizations that demonstrate a need for MOT sponsorship.  The best opportunity to be awarded these grants is when you schedule your program July - December.

To request grant support from MOT write a brief statement (1 paragraph) explaining your needs and submit it with your application.  Please indicate the amount of resources you are able to contribute towards the cost of the program.  We will do our best to help you bring your students to the MOT.  

What does the program consist of?
The experience consists of:

  • Age-appropriate guided Museum experience to explore themes such as the power of words and images, lessons from history, personal responsibility, and 'making a difference'
  • Interactive Personal Testimony Session with a Holocaust Survivor
  • Buffet Lunch
  • Time for Personal and Group Reflection

What time do the programs run?
6 hour programs are usually scheduled from 9am-3pm. 8 hour programs are usually scheduled from 9am-5pm.

Is lunch and/or transportation included in the cost of the program?
Lunch is included in the full price of the program. Lunch is not included in the cost of subsidized programs and you are required to make those arrangements. Transportation is not included; it is the responsibility of the school/organization to provide transportation to and from the program. How many participants can attend?
The minimum number of participants required for a customized program is 25; the maximum per program is 60.

How many chaperones do we need to bring?
The Museum requires two (2) chaperones per 25 students.

When is the program offered?
Programs are offered year-round, usually Monday through Friday with the exception of certain holidays. The Museum is closed on Saturdays.

How do we get started?
All groups requesting a program are required to complete a program profile. Once we receive your paperwork, we will review your request and contact you to schedule your program.
