Our Museum Volunteers are unique individuals who respond to the challenge of confronting personal prejudices, taking responsibility and inspiring change. Volunteer opportunities exist for many different skills and abilities.

Who can volunteer? Minimum Requirements:
Enthusiastic & motivated Volunteers committed to the mission, goals, & ideals of the MOT.
Open to men and women nineteen and older
Completed application and interview.
Commit to a minimum of 10 hours of service a month.
Complete all training and pass certification before beginning active volunteer service.
Dedication to continual training and learning.
We are currently welcoming Volunteer applicants for:
Museum Guides: Over 110,000 students participate in guided tours at the Museum each year. Volunteer guides bring their enthusiasm and skills to shape a highly interactive Museum experience. You will be trained to facilitate tours in both the Tolerancenter/ Holocaust exhibit and/ or in the Finding Our Families, Finding Ourselves exhibit.
Gallery Assistants: You are Host/Hostess for the Museum, greeting and guiding public visitors through the exhibits, and helping out at different positions in the Museum.
Library & Archives: You will be trained to assist with daily library operations, answering phones, assisting with cataloging and research, and with the preparation of digital archival material.
Bookstore & Giftshop: You will greet customers and assist staff
We interview and train new Volunteers several times a year. Applications are accepted throughout the year. The Museum provides comprehensive training for new Volunteers.
The five-week Volunteer Training Program, scheduled for Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 1:00-4:30pm, includes an introduction to the Museum, essential skills and methodology, Holocaust education and Tolerance workshops.
The formal training is followed by a flexible Apprenticeship period designed to allow our Volunteers to become familiar and comfortable with the Museum and the various Volunteer opportunities.
For those volunteers that work full time. We are sensitive to your schedules and would like to include you in our Sunday team. Please inquire about our weekend only training program.
