PROJECT ASSISTANT, TOOLS FOR TOLERANCE® FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT

FULL TIME POSITION

GRANT FUNDED PROGRAM THROUGH 10/31/2019 

The Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement, an award-winning professional development program of the Museum of Tolerance, seeks a full time Project Assistant to provide overall support in planning, development and coordination of the Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement programs. Position reports to Director, Tools for Tolerance® for Law Enforcement.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Assist in the management of daily programs, i.e. coordinating agendas and supplies, calendaring, room set up, audio-visual and catering orders, working with adjunct faculty including facilitators, speakers and presenters.
  • Assist in making travel arrangement for program participants including following up with travel forms and confirming itineraries.
  • Act as liaison for program participant groups, presenters, and museum personnel
  • Aid in the marketing and recruitment of programs
  • Process reservations, send confirmation letters, work with vendors and liaise with various departments within the Simon Wiesenthal Center
  • Maintain documentation for grant reports and program files
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate and efficient filing system
  • Responsible for processing and filing all administrative paperwork
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory of program materials

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills a must
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Ability to work well independently as well as provide supporting role on team
  • High degree of flexibility, can adapt easily to a fast paced and changing environment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to undertake multiple tasks
  • Highly motivated, shows initiative, and has ability to problem solve

Computer literate: proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel (mandatory), knowledge of PowerPoint, Publisher, Access (preferred)

40 hours/week, Monday-Friday (and some Sunday programs as needed)
