Based on the bestselling middle-grade novel by Deborah Ellis, The Breadwinner is an animated feature film set in 2001 in Kabul. It follows the empowering story of a young girl named Parvana who must cut off her hair and disguise herself as a boy to become the breadwinner for her family when her father is unfairly imprisoned.
