The People vs. Fritz Bauer

A film by Lars Kraume

Winner: Six German Film Awards including Best Film

Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 7:00p.m.

Germany, 1957: Attorney General Fritz Bauer receives crucial evidence on the whereabouts of Adolf Eichmann. The lieutenant colonel, responsible for the mass deportation of the Jews, is allegedly hiding in Buenos Aires. Bauer, himself Jewish, has been trying to bring the crimes of the Third Reich to court ever since his return from Danish exile. His efforts, however, have been thwarted at every turn by the fierce determination of the Germans to repress their sinister past. To assure Eichman’s capture, Bauer must commit treason. The People vs. Fritz Bauer paints a gripping portrait of a courageous man and his relentless pursuit of truth and justice.
