Battle For Our Minds: Westen Elites and the Terror Threat
A Provocative Evening with Dr. Michael Widlanski
Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at 7:00pm
1972 - 2012: Why America and the Jewish people remain prime targets of terrorists
As anti-American and anti-Jewish attacks increase world-wide, the United States and the West are coasting on borrowed time and on intelligence findings made years ago. U.S. officials point to drone attacks and body-counts, but the U.S. has virtually closed down human intelligence gathering and cut back on high-tech monitoring and intelligence gathering on terror suspects.
Dr. Michael Widlanski is a specialist in Arab politics and communication whose doctorate dealt with the Palestinian broadcast media. He is author of the new book Battle For Our Minds: Western Elites And The Terror Threat. He is a former reporter, correspondent, and editor, respectively, at The New York Times, The Cox Newspapers-Atlanta Constitution, and The Jerusalem Post. He has also served as a special advisor to Israeli delegations to peace talks in 1991-1992 and as Strategic Affairs Advisor to the Ministry of Public Security, editing secret PLO Archives captured in Jerusalem.
