The Museum of Tolerance and Director Jan Thompson invite you to the Los Angeles Premiere of

Never The Same

The Prisoner of War Experience

Narrated by Loretta Swit

Thursday, August 15, 2013 at 7:30pm

More than twenty years in the making, this innovative documentary by three-time Emmy Award-winning director Jan Thompson depicts the experience of American POWs  captured by  the  Japanese during WWII, largely through their poems, songs, drawings and cartoons, many brought to life through animation.  Starved and brutalized, the men meet horror with American ingenuity and gallows humor, all abundantly evident as survivors describe the daily struggle for survival. Additional narration by Ed Asner, Alec Baldwin, Jamie Farr, Mike Farrell, Robert Forster, Christopher Franciosa, Robert Loggia, John O’Hurley, Don Murray, Christopher Murray, Kathleen Turner, Robert Wagner and Sam Waterson.

Q&A With Filmmaker Jan Thompson and Special Guests following the screening.
