In Commemoration of International Holocaust Remembrance Day

During World War II , an estimated 400,000 Jewish and non-Jewish prisoners at Auschwitz and its sub-camps were tattooed with serial numbers. Guided by the testimonies and portraits of Auschwitz survivors, NUMBERED documents the dark times and setting during which these tattoos were assigned and the evolution of these numbers to a personal and collective symbol. These scars, paradoxically unanimous and anonymous, reveal themselves to be diverse, enlightening and full of life.
