The IAJGS (International Association of Jewish Genealogical Societies) held their annual conference this month at the JW Mariott downtown (LA Live).  There were over 1,000 registrants at the conference coordinated by the JGSLA (Jewish Genealogical Society of Los Angeles).

A major part of the conference was a Resource Room with a large number of computers with Internet access to the US Holocaust Memorial Museum, the Shoah Foundation Interviews, Ancestry.com, etc.  In addition there were Yizkor (Memorial) Books, Encyclopedias, and other genealogical resources for people to research their families.  The Resource Room also provided translators whom people signed up with.  Everyone volunteered their services.

The MOT Library and Archives provided a lot of these resources on loan.  In addition, Adaire Klein, Director, Library and Archives, volunteered her time to guide and assist visitors and researchers.
