Fighting for Women's Right to Vote

Friday, March 2, 2012 at 1:30pm

For school groups 4th grade through college

Journey through history in this high impact performance that combines live theater and dynamic archival imagery to bring to life the 72 year battle that won half of America’s citizens the right to vote.

Meet Jessie, a young girl growing up in Washington DC during the 1900’s.  Follow Jessie as she becomes deeply involved in the suffrage movement.  Tragedy strikes Jessie and her family and each must decide what action they are to take on this pivotal issue in American History.

A facilitated exercise to help students make connections between the struggles for women’s right to vote and the impact on their life today will follow the performance.  Curriculum is available.

No charge but advance registration is required.
