TOUR FREEDOM’S SISTERS EXHIBITION
Freedom’s Sisters is an exhibition that celebrates the lives of 20 African American women, from key 19th-century historical figures to contemporary leaders, who fought for equality for all Americans.
SEE A UNIQUE MINIATURE MUSEUM
Karen Collins, a Southern California Freedom’s Sister and renowned Artist, presents her one of a kind miniature African-American History Museum. Don’t miss the chance to see her wonderful art work and join in a discussion about her creative process.
EXPERIENCE A LIVE PERFORMANCE
Freedom’s Sisters comes to life when Dr. Kenya Davis Hayes portrays four of the inspirational women featured in the exhibition: Rosa Parks, Harriet Tubman, Barbara Jordan and Septima Poinsette Clark. Children are invited to become involved by asking questions of each historical figure to better understand the time in which she lived and the challenges she overcame.
