Family Sunday - Yom HaShoah Holocaust Remembrance Day

Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 12:00pm - 4:00pm

On Sunday, April 11th, the Museum of Tolerance hosted a Family Sunday program in honor of Yom Hashoah, Holocaust Remembrance Day. Museum visitors heard from Holocaust survivor speakers and viewed Holocaust artifacts that have never before been displayed to public visitors. Visitors also took part in Zikaron V’Tivkah, The Butterfly Project, by painting ceramic butterflies in remembrance of the 1.5 children who were killed during the Holocaust. This project, designed by the San Diego Jewish Academy, was presented by participants in the Museum’s Jewish Student Leadership Initiative, funded by the Jewish Community Foundation.
